Sat. 14th Jun. - Maximising the Honey Crop and the use of the “Taranov board” with Tom Salter MBE. At Mr. Alan Weaver’s Goosard apiary. Meet at Paulton Village Car Park, opposite Red Lion Inn at 2.00pm.
Sat. 19th Jul. - Pub lunch (details later) Followed by, “Where to Site a New Apiary”, and “Where to Purchase Bees and Queens” and “ How to Make Increases”. At Mrs Amanda Young’s apiary, Clutton Hill. Beekeeping starts at 2.30 pm. with Mr. Alan Weaver.
Sat. 16th Aug. - In anticipation of the honey crop. Clearing supers and colony assessment. With Mr. Bob Needs of Bath Beekeepers. At Mr. Robin Ames’ apiary, Castle House, East Harptree. (Opposite Castle of Comfort Inn). Meet at 2.30pm.
Sat. 20th Sep. - Preparing for winter. Feeding requirements and dealing with pests and diseases. With Mr. Adam Vevers (Regional Bee Inspector) at Mr. Ross Thompson’s apiary, Carlingcott. (Ring 01761 420204 for directions). Meet at 2.30 pm.
Fri 24th Oct. - A talk entitled “Fifty Years of Beekeeping” with Mr. David Morris of Taunton. Followed by Mendip BKA Annual General Meeting, at Chilcompton Church Hall. 7.30pm at start.
