Programme 2008

  • All regular lectures are in the Draycott Memorial Hall and begin at 7.30p.m. Apiary meetings during the season will mostly take place at Orchard Farm, Clewer where the Divisional hives are currently kept. Some meetings will be at other members’ apiaries

    Visitors from other Divisions are welcome, but please let the Secretary know that you are coming, and to confirm dates. (Bridget Knutson 01934 742187 )

    A course of six Apiary Meetings for potential Beekeepers who have attended the Introduction Course 2007 will be arranged. They will take place on Saturdays or Sundays between March and September.

    17th May 9.30 – 5.00pm ‘Disease Recognition Day’ Draycott Hall and Apiaries with Richard Ball and Adam Vevers session on ‘Microscope Investigations’ to be arranged to complete the course.

    28 – 31st May - Royal Bath and West Show

    7/8th Jun. - Apiary meeting – Assessing colony size – is the build up for main flow in July on track?

    12/13th Jul. Apiary meeting – Adequate space for honey? Queen performance

    9th/10th Aug. - Apiary meeting Varroa check and control measures - Apiguard

    6/7th Sep. - Apiary meeting – Post Varroa treatment check – Feeding for Winter

    Thu. 25th Sep. – Summarising the Season

    October 14/15th. - AGM
