Beekeeping for Beginners' Course 2024
Our Beginners' Course starts with a series of four classroom based theory sessions. They will introduce you to the world of beekeeping in an interesting and interactive way and are suitable for anyone, not just potential beekeepers, who wants to learn more about the honey bee.
The theory course is followed up by three practical sessions which will take place in our divisional apiary in Shepton Mallet. These will help to build confidence in opening hives, handling bees and understanding bee behaviour.
The theory part of the course will be held at Whitstone School, Charlton Road, Shepton Mallet BA4 5PF. The sessions are on Wednesday evenings between 7.30 - 9pm and start on Wednesday 6 March 2024.
The practical sessions in the apiary will start on Saturday 20 April from 2 - 4pm in our Shepton Mallet apiary and beekeeping suits will be available to borrow.
The cost of the course is £50 to cover both the theory and practical sessions.
The course is limited to 30 places and if you are interested, or have any queries, please email Lin at centralbeestraining@gmail.com
